City of Lodi announces winners of ‘Protect Our Watershed’ poster contest

Keep Our Watershed Clean by Anabel Vargas

The City of Lodi Public Works is very pleased to announce that 49 students from Lodi schools were able to participate in the City of Lodi’s first “Protect Our Watershed” poster contest.

We all live in a watershed.

Since City of Lodi streets drain to the Mokelumne River, with minimal treatment, this poster contest was meant to encourage students to demonstrate ways for the public to conserve and protect our water resources locally. All posters were hand drawn and colored. No computer images were allowed. Posters are on display at the Lodi Lake Discovery Center through May. All artwork was judged by City of Lodi staff.

The Best of Show winner was Anabel Vargas, an eighth-grade student at Joe Serna Jr. Charter School, whose poster is featured in this post.

Listed below are the other winners, their schools and teachers.

Winners will receive a certificate from the City of Lodi and ice cream tokens to Double Dip Gallery in Downtown Lodi, across from Lodi City Hall.
