‘Teaching From a Watershed Perspective’ Workshop

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 10, 2016
Where: Hutchins Street Square, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi

The City of Lodi Watershed Education Program invites you to attend an interactive workshop that will bring study of the environment to life through the hands-on activities of Project WET (Water Education for Teachers)!

Your time will be engaged in experiencing the activities and you’ll walk away loaded with classroom ready content to study the environment, human interactions and current standards.

The interdisciplinary activities of Project WET activities provide a wealth of real-life scenario-based and interactive activities that will help bring alive science and engineering practices (SEPs), cross-cutting Concepts and disciplinary core ideas (DCIs) at the core of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The activities include rich language arts and math opportunities to dove-tail with Common Core Standards (CCSS). These features make Project WET effective tools for integrating student knowledge of the environmental and provide strong foundations for STEAM, Service-Learning programs and Project-Based Learning programs.

Each participant will receive:

  • Hands-on experience with environment-based learning activities
  • A copy of the Project WET 2.0 Guide and free access to over 110 Project WET activities
  • Lunch
  • A wealth of knowledge on local water resources
  • An opportunity to purchase CEU credits
