Save the date: Biodiversity Museum Day at UC Davis

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 18, 2017
Where: University of California, Davis, 1 Shields Ave., Davis
Cost: Free access to exhibits and parking at the university

The University of California, Davis will open up 12 of its collections to the public on the sixth annual Biodiversity Museum Day. Each of the collections showcases natural history, biodiversity and the interactions between humans and their environments.

Ten of the collections are within walking distance of each other on the main campus. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests are invited to visit:

  • Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology
  • Bohart Museum of Entomology
  • Paleontology Collection
  • Arboretum and Public Gardens
  • Phaff Yeast Culture Collection
  • Viticulture and Enology Culture Collection

From noon until 4 p.m., the following exhibits will be open to the public:

  • Nematode Collection
  • Botanical Conservatory
  • Center for Plant Diversity Herbarium
  • Anthropology Museum

The Raptor Center (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and the Haagen-Dazs Honey Bee Haven (noon to 4 p.m.) are accessible by car.

Some of the exhibits even offer hands-on activities.
